  1. Nice fall colors/scenes - we are still waiting for fall to come to us - maybe around Thanksgiving (southeast Tx)

    1. Thanks, Sherry. After the driving rain and wind we had last night, I doubt there are many leaves remaining on the trees this morning!

I'm going to be in Dallas next month. Looking forward to more fall colors down there!

    1. With our chilly temps this morning and the bare trees, it's beginning to feel more like winter!! :(

  3. Your autumn colors look really nice. It seems we're experiencing the change, but not so vivid as past fall foliage displays. The leaves are more or less adoring their new wardrobe for a short period before standing before us all naked.

BTW, you may wish to consider moving your GFC toward the upper portion of your blog for folks to find it easier.

    1. We've been lucky this fall. Our colors are a bit more vibrant than past years, which surprises me since we had a terribly dry summer. Maybe that's the key?!

Thanks for your suggestion about the GFC widget and for following. Your sunset pix are gorgeous!

    1. Thanks, Sheryl. I love Autumn, too. It may be my favorite of all four seasons. Too bad it doesn't last a bit longer.

  5. What on earth is Google Friend Connect? I can't keep up!! Love your pics, especially the one looking out the window with the little cow (?), and the view of the street. It looks like an old movie scene.

    1. LOL. I can't keep up, either!

The picture you're referring to is our west-facing kitchen window. The tree is our neighbor's and the animal is a wooden goat that has "Kids for Sale" painted on it. ;) I've had that for 20 years!

The street view is from our driveway looking east. It was taken on my day off, so it was probably sometime in the morning hours. I think I was dragging the hose around the yard, doing a little watering. We were in the 80s last week, but this morning it was windy, rainy and COLD. 33 when I woke up.

    1. Thanks, Diane. I love fall, too. Puts me in the mood to make soup, chili and apple pie. And sip on hot cider and bourbon. :)

    1. Thanks! I think the signs have disappeared and now we're seeing hints of winter. Already! :(

  8. Beautiful colors. You know, I've taken photos like the golden trees against big blue sky just last week, but this week, it's snow and wind for us. Winter comes just too, too early this year. But I know we'll get a break every now and then. If you ever come visit Alberta, the best time has to be summer. ;)

    1. Thank you, Arti. I can't get over how blue the sky was that day. It just takes my breath away sometimes, after living in San Diego for 20 years and never really noticing such a blue sky. Maybe I wasn't looking up as often as I do here. :)

No worries. If I ever visit Alberta, it will definitely be in the summer. I have pictures of me as a little girl standing outside our house (in Valley View) in the snow with my eyelashes frozen shut from crying. Those prairies are not that much different from the ones here in Nebraska!

  9. And I'd be just the opposite. I have longed to see Alberta in the winter for most of my life.

  11. Just gorgeous!! I always think that we'll one day live in a place that has a true fall with turning leaves...but I just don't think I want the winter that comes along with it. ;) Thank you for sharing... We did get our dose in Ireland but still wishing we got more of it in Dallas.

    1. Thanks, Trish! You know, as pretty as the leaves look, I'd trade it all for warmer winters. And maybe some beachfront property. ;) Looking forward to the warmer temps at the end of the month when we head south!
