Gratitude Lately

It's been a couple of months since I've shared any of my Instagram photos. I'm hopeful that I can make this a regular feature on my blog since I know some of you aren't on Instagram or Facebook. My inspiration comes from Emily at Today's Letters. Enjoy!

Lately, I've been thankful for
 quiet Sunday mornings,
 Rod's delicious buttermilk pancakes
and fresh-squeezed OJ.

For a new bourbon on a cold winter night.

For fresh ingredients and blue bowls.

For the delicious fragrance of
sauteed onions, mushrooms and beef.

For a delicious breakfast for dinner.

For fresh beginnings.

For warm temps and porch sitting
on a Nebraska Sunday in January.

For a well-mannered pup who
understands the importance of "Wait."

For a home filled
 with love and laughter.

    1. Thanks, Kathy. It was a fun (and fairly easy) post to put together.

  2. Love these! Hasn't it been great to be able to be outside and not freezing so much of this month? Although I'm pretty much over all of the wind. Breakfast for dinner is one of our favs - yours looks delicious.

    1. Thank you, Lisa. I figure if I'm no longer going to keep photo albums, I can always look back through my blog to see some of my favorite pictures. :)

Yes, I'm over the wind, too, but this is Nebraska and it's almost ALWAYS windy!

  3. I really should go back to sharing my pictures from Instagram, too. I did for Elf on the Shelf in December, but otherwise it has been ages since I have. I enjoy seeing your on there, though. :)

    1. I'm toying with the idea of joining in on the February Estellagram. I tried to post every day for a month sometime last year, but I think I failed miserably. But it got me started on Instagram, so that's a good thing, right?

    1. No more porch sitting here for a while. More snow heading our way. Longest. Winter. Ever. Or maybe just the coldest.

  6. Can you believe I've never had bourbon? Can we still be friends? Love the moleskine and new beginnings! I still journal even though I blog; some things are too private to throw at the internet. (Like my feelings. Ad nauseum.) Anyway, lucky you and Rod and Annie with buttermilk pancakes and coffee! xo

    1. Yes, we can still be friends. :) Funny, I don't remember when we started drinking bourbon, but I tried some of Rod's favorite (Maker's Mark) and at first I didn't care too much for it. I used to make a whiskey sour with it, but started drinking it on the rocks. Now I prefer it "neat."

Yep, I still keep a real book journal in addition to my blog. There's something about keeping a handwritten record. Maybe it's just my nature to worry that maybe this whole blogging thing will disappear in a "poof!" Then what would I do?! How would I know what I've read. Oh, wait. I have Good Reads. ;)

And, I'm big on breakfast for dinner. Love it!

    1. Feel free to steal the idea. I think it's important to make a deliberate effort to note what we are grateful for. Plus, it gives me an excuse to share some of my favorite pictures. ;)
