Bloggy Break

I didn't mean to disappear for two weeks, but life has gotten rather hectic. As many of you know, we are planning to move to Oregon once my husband retires in May and after we sell our house. We had originally planned to put it on the market at the end of April, but we decided to go ahead and meet with our agent and see what she advises. She feels the market in our community continues to be strong for sellers, so the paperwork to list has been drawn up and things are moving ahead rather quickly. I may continue to be rather quiet around here for a little bit, but not to worry. I will be back. I'm also contemplating a name change to the blog since I will no longer be living on the prairie. Any suggestions? We're planning to live on the coast of Oregon, so I'm open to all suggestions for a new name!

I'll see you all soon! Fingers crossed that we sell quickly. I am quite happy to spend my days packing rather than tidying up after my husband and dog...

Note to self: Breathe. This too shall pass

Well, I wrote a draft of this post on Thursday and now it's Saturday. Things are happening rather quickly around here. The house sold on the first day!

    1. Thanks, Kathy. We just started organizing things for our garage sale, which isn't until May 6th, but we have a lot to sell!

  3. Congratulations! Know that there is a lot more work to come, but before long you'll be sharing pictures and thoughts about your new and beautiful home. Sigh. Can you hear the sound of the sea if the windows are open?

    1. Thanks, Kay! Busy days ahead, but it won't be long before we're relaxing in OR. Sometimes, when the windows are open, you can hear the sound of the waves crashing against the bluff, but almost always I can hear the sound of the bell on the buoy off the point. It's a nice sound. :)

  4. How exciting👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Congrats! You could always keep part of your blog title by calling it something like.....From Prairie to Coastal Horizons (a new chapter)

    Wishing you all the best!

    1. Thanks, Kelly! Exciting days ahead. On top of all this, we're heading to Chilliwack, B.C. in August to pick up our travel trailer.

  9. I was amazed to see the For Sale sign so soon! Even I didn't have time to adjust to the rapidity! But, I am so happy for you and your husband; what wonderful adventures await. Can't wait to hear about them on your continued blog.

As for a name? I've always been partial to Lesley's Book Nook. :)

    1. Meredith, we were surprised, too. It all happened very quickly!

You know, Rod has always said he's partial to Lesley's Book Nook. Now you've voiced the same opinion. Maybe it's time to return to my original name, eh?

  10. Congratulations on selling your home so soon! That's great news and now you can focus on your new home. Wishing you all the best as you make your move. I can't wait to see pictures from your new environment. I haven't been to Oregon but always imagine it is beautiful.

  11. I liked the old blog name, too. I can't believe I've never been to Oregon. It seems like I should have visited long ago, since my mother spent her high school years in the PNW (but in Washington's Yakima Valley). I'm glad your house sale was so nice and quick. Hope the move is as easy as selling the house.

    1. The old blog name may make a return! We'll see once I get back to blogging after this move. Life has never been so busy! I have multiple To Do lists floating around my desk and I have to review them every morning. I've pretty much stopped cooking since we've been eating out with friends (everyone wants to say goodbye at least 2 or 3 times!), so I'll be eager to settle back into that routine, as well.

I hope you get a chance to get out to Oregon some day. We could have a mini gathering for bloggers! :)
