It's that time of year again! I love this annual reading challenge. It helps me stay focused on the books that are on my shelves, some of which that have been there for several years. In addition to the backlist titles, I have quite a few new releases that I'm eager to read.
Here are some details about the challenge.
- 20 Books of Summer is hosted by Annabel at AnnaBookBel.
- The #20BOS26 challenge runs from Monday June 1st to Monday August 31st.
- The first rule of 20 Books is that there are no real rules, other than signing up for 10, 15, or 20 books and trying to read from your TBR. (If you think you’ll only manage 5, that’s fine too.)
You can find more about this challenge on Annabel's site. My personal cut-off date lands on Labor Day, which this year is September 7th. It's nice to have an extra week to wrap things up. I haven't included book group titles or books that I'll read on audio, so my final results will most likely be a bit different from my original choices.

You have some dynamite titles here. I liked the Quindlen book, John Boyne and The Alice Network (but I like just about anything Kate Quinn writes). I have holds on a few books which are on order at my library so, who knows when the Patchett and O'Farrell books will get catalogued ...but I am in line for them.
ReplyDeleteOff to Goodreads to check out your other titles.
Thanks, Tina. I have a lot of these, but will have to wait a bit on the newer ones, most of which I'll probably listen to on Spotify. I bought The Alice Network at an indie bookstore a couple of days ago on our trip. It's been on my TBR list forever!
DeleteI have read The Alice Network and liked it. Enjoy your 20 books! And I love, love, love the picture in your header! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kay. I took that photo at Quinault Lake in the Olympic National Park. It almost looks like snow on the mountains, but it's all clouds. So beautiful! Glad to know The Alice Network is a winner. I still have The Briar Club to read, too. :)
DeleteI've read The Alice Network and Looking for Alaska. I'd start with the John Green.
ReplyDeleteHelen, Looking for Alaska is probably the book that I've had on my shelves the longest. I really should start with that one!
DeleteNice. I just made & posted my summer list as well .. fun to compile - my list focuses mostly on recent or new books ... and we have 3 in common on our lists. Yay. I have read 4 on your list: More Than Enough, The Alice Network, The Safekeep (whoa) and Long Bright River (so good). I'm perhaps most curious about The Gulf of Lions from your list ... so I suggest that one first, lol. Enjoy your summer reads.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I'm behind with reading blogs, but I'll pop over soon to read about your summer list! As far as The Gulf of Lions, it may be later in the summer since I couldn't find a copy in the indie stores I visited on our road trip. Wah!
