While You've Been Blogging...

I've been hitting the local bike trails on my trusty Trek.

Yep. That would be corn.

Halfway mark.
Time to turn around and head back home.

Game day. Go Huskers!

In one month, I've logged 240 miles in less than 16.5 hours.
I hope to ride until the snow falls.

  1. WOW...that's a lot of biking Les. At least the land looks incredibly flat.

  4. You are very lucky to have the bike trails. And you are lucky your knees can take it! (my word verification was 'a chum' - indeed!!)

  5. Lovely flat lands for biking! These stupid TN hills kill me everytime.

  6. Holy moses! You're making my quads hurt just thinking about it.

  8. Great job and you're so right...I should be out doing something while I still can!

  9. I wish I could go with you...our newly completed bike path which follows the river for miles just opened up, and we went on it this weekend. Except, my husband has a Canondale and my mother has a Motobecane, and I could hardly keep up with them with my Hard Rock Specialized. I think I need a new (lighter!) bike for my 50th!

  10. Woo-hoo! Look at you. As temperatures are finally becoming normal around here I'm thinking of dusting off my bike and learning to ride again :)

    Keep on cycling!

  11. Diane - Yep. It's pretty flat out here in Nebraska. There are some hilly areas, but not on this particular trail.

Kay - I don't know if they're getting in shape (as in slimming down), but they're feeling stronger every time I ride. Guess that's what's important, right?

Coffee and a Book Chick - Thanks so much! I'm quite pleased with that particular photo. I think I'll add it to my photo blog.

Nan - We are very lucky! There are so many around and I never get bored with my rides.

You know, my knees actually feel stronger than they did when I was running. Not much pain anymore. Must be the stronger quad muscles that are helping.

    Thanks, chum. :)

Pam - I wonder if I'd ride as much if I had to battle a lot of hills. I'm lovin' the trails in our area, but wouldn't mind something a little more challenging every once in awhile. Right now I'm working on increasing my rpms. Trying to burn more fat. :)

    Kathy - Thanks!

Staci - Maybe we'll get lucky and have a super mild winter! One can hope, right?

Bellezza - I wish you could go with me, too. How cool is that to ride with your hubby AND mom! I think we should both treat ourselves to new bikes next year. I'm going to start researching Hybrids. Wouldn't it be awesome to go on a bike tour in Europe?!

Iliana - :) Go for it! You can probably ride until the first ice storm. ;)

  12. Andi - Ha! My quads don't hurt so much anymore. My wrists, on the other hand, are feeling a little achy.

  13. Beautiful photos, Les! I've been walking twice a week every week. Exercise makes me feel good.

  14. Debbie - Thanks so much! Isn't walking great? I skipped the bike rides this weekend and walked both yesterday and today. It was nice to spend some time listening to my audio books. I don't do that when I ride!
