Nice! Inspiration to finally get around to this book!
ReplyDeleteTee Hee! I actually came to your blog yesterday to tell you that very news. I gave it a second thought and decided you were probably on top of it. HA! I was right. :)
ReplyDeleteI plan on listening to the audiobook very soon. I narrowed my choices down to The Hedgehog or The Chicago Way and chose The Chicago Way. Maybe The Hedgehog will be next. :)
Hope you enjoy it!!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I just couldn't get through this book but I would probably give the movie version a chance.
ReplyDeleteKailana - It's a wonderful book...on audio. Not so sure about the printed version. Could be a bit dry, imho.
ReplyDeleteJoy - Great minds think alike! :) Hope you enjoy the audio when you get around to reading it. Don't let the early chapters dissuade you. One, in particular, is a bit slow-going, but it picks up.
Staci - Me, too. I'll probably wait for it to go to DVD and rent it from Netflix. We rarely ever go to the theater anymore. Much more comfy (and quiet) to watch in our own home.
Stephanie - I think the printed version of the book is too plodding and dry in too many chapters centered around the concierge. I have a feeling the film will be well done and I'm looking forward to it.
OMG, Les. I started listening to the audiobook this morning and was just beside myself. Why you say? I do not like the narrator AT ALL! She is an extremely popular, well-loved narrator, but I don't have an ounce of patience for her. Never have, don't think I ever will. ARRRRGGGHH. I am going to pretend it's not her (ha-ha), and practice acceptance and patience, but I'm afraid it's going to take one fantastic story to detach my mind from that voice.
ReplyDeleteI have too many books to read that if I'm going to get to it at all before the movie, I have to listen to the audiobook, otherwise I would just read it. Maybe you could read it to me? Would you like to give narrating books a try? Tee Hee
Joy - I'm so sorry you wound up not enjoying the reader or the book. Trust me, though. You would not want me to read it for you! I'm a terrible reader. I tend to stumble over words--unless it's a children's book. :)
