And if you're as curious as I am, I just counted my cookbooks. I own 53, which I'm sure pales in comparison to some of your collections. Guess I'd better add a few more to mine, don't you think?

Those all look great! I'm fascinated by the epicurious one -- I've had some good luck over the years with recipes from that site.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I've ever tried an Epicurious recipe, but after thumbing through the cookbook, I see quite a few that sound delicious.
DeleteOh, I'd love to have that Cook's Country cookbook. I'm addicted to that show, although I've never made anything from it. Watching them is like going to therapy (or at least what I imagine it should be like).
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid to count my cookbooks. Occasionally I get some out, but I seldom actually make anything from them. I seem to have collected them (and decorating books) like crazy when I worked at Borders.
I think I got my Chicken Parmesan recipe from CC's, Janet. I like their magazines and would love a subscription, but I'm afraid they'd languish on my shelves even more than my cookbooks. I need more hours in my day to peruse my recipes and do more cooking. :)
DeleteI want the first one, but I always preview them from the library before just buying now, as I've been disappointed in the back.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I really should hit the library and try some cookbooks before purchasing. Thanks, Diane!
DeleteYou have some wonderful cookbooks there; I'm coveting Ina's new one, and my sister-in-law would love Cook's Country.
ReplyDeleteI need to spend a little more time perusing Ina's latest. I love the photos in all of her cookbooks, but have only found a couple of "winners" amongst all her recipes.
DeleteHave you got an absolute favorite cookbook? All of those look interesting - but I am going to have to go the library route to check them out first. Cheers
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I would have to say that Trisha Yearwood's Home Cooking is my recent favorite. Pioneer Woman's first cookbook is also very good.
DeleteI want every single one of these!
ReplyDelete:) Great minds think alike!
DeleteI love cookbooks yet never really "cook"!! They all look good to me!
ReplyDeleteI'm finding I cook less frequently than I used to. I doesn't help that my husband teaches at our community college two nights a week (after spending all day at his "real" job at Sandhill's Publishing). Those two nights, plus two nights of lesson planning/grading make for a very busy week. Not to mention I'm worn out after my long days at work, especially during the holiday season. I'm trying, though! And we both love to eat and don't much care for fast-food or frozen/microwavable items.
DeleteFifty-three? That's about how many lipsticks I own. :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I want that Smitten Kitchen book though.
I have one lipstick and about a dozen lip balms. ;)
DeleteI only use about a third of those cookbooks, though. I just like to know they're there if I need them. Plus I love good food photography.
I definitely have a cookbook addiction. I don't want to count the collection because then I'd have to face the full extent of the problem! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI know there are a lot of people who have far more than I do, but I'm only cooking for two and it seems a bit silly to want more when I can probably getting plenty of new ideas off the Internet and Pinterest.
DeleteHa! Turkeys! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm a total addict. In the past year and a half I've had to seriously cut my book buying habit because I'm running out of room and reading much more slowly. So what do I do? Buy cookbooks and books for Elle. One of my 2013 Things is cooking from those cookbooks! I'll choose one a month and just focus.
I have been lusting over Smitten Kitchen and will probably add to my Christmas list. I love her blog.
I make an effort to try one new recipe each week, but that isn't really making much of a dent in all my cookbooks. Time to get disciplined and get back to my weekly menu planning and tackle a cookbook every month.
DeleteIna Garten seems so calm and reassuring.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Bybee! I've been perusing her new book and have found a few recipes I'd like to try. Now to look more closely at the other books...
Deletei had a few dozen but scaled back a few moves ago. a few tempting ones there!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to resist the latest and greatest.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
