New Name!
Now that we've moved to the coast, Prairie Horizons doesn't really work for this blog anymore, so I'm trying out a new name. Since I'm posting about our adventures, as well as books, I decided not to use Lesley's Book Nook, either (although that remains in my URL with Blogger). I was also going to add "fish tacos, brews, and chasing sunsets," but that got too wordy and was voted down by my husband. :) We're picking up our Canadian 19 foot Escape travel trailer in August, so that's where the backroads come in. Lots of road trips on the horizon! So, unless I change my mind in the next day or two, you're now reading Coastal Horizons... books, beaches, and backroad adventures. I hope you enjoy all that I plan to share in the coming months.
Rod & I are settling in to our new home and community and loving retired life (although we've never been so busy!). I hope to share more pictures in the coming weeks, but here are just a few from yesterday. We volunteered to help clean up our private cove, which gets a lot of driftwood from the winter storms. It was a lot of fun and a great way to meet more neighbors.

DeleteI love the new name! It looks like everyone is dressed for cool weather in those photos. (By the way, we're very busy in retirement too.)
ReplyDeleteKathy, we might be on the coast and it may be summer, but it's not very warm. Our temps this past month have been around 60-65, although we did have one day when we hit 82! In spite of the cooler weather, I've been living in shorts since we arrived.

Linda, it's a great community! I'm glad you like the name change. I really struggled with it, especially since Rod prefers "Lesley's Book Nook." Yep, the cooler temps are great. I walked into town today and wore a sweatshirt, but took it off before I got a couple of blocks away from the house. Gorgeous weather for the holiday weekend!

DeleteGreat new name, and new icon for your name. I know you've always loved boats (canoes and kayaks, etc.) and it just fits wonderfully with your new name, new location.
ReplyDeleteI still remember the beautiful brown and cream template with the little statue figure by the red flowers. I've known you all these years, and I still don't know the names of those flowers! Impatiens? That would be my guess.
