I got halfway through The Stand last year and never finished it. Sometimes, our attention is just not engaged. Or, when it comes to horror, I'm just plain old afraid. Last night Pscyho was on, the original, and Every Single Time it gets to the end I have to switch it off. I've never seen it all the way through, but I did catch a glimpse of him holding his mother's skeleton one year, accidently, and it scared the crap out of me.
Bellezza - My problem with this particular book is my lack of enthusiasm for short stories in general. And these weren't really horror, but more psychological in nature. I love Stephen King's ability to weave an intricate story, peopled with colorful/memorable characters. Short stories just don't do it for me.
Yeah, psychological thrillers are awesome. Those I could read all day. Somehow, short stories don't give us enough to sink our teeth into, most of the time. In my opinion.
