Now that won't be a scene you'll be seeing next year. Flatness and highway that stretches out on and on. Bet you'll be glad to have trees and the ocean and coastal cliffs. Ah!
I'll never, ever get over that sky and that openness. I know I've told you this but years ago a woman came from flatter lands and felt hemmed in by the mountains here. Whereas, I feel safe by their enclosure and would feel vulnerable in such open land. Isn't it just so interesting what landscapes appeal to us and nurture us.
Nan, it really is amazing how the topography changes just from county to county in this state. I am looking forward to mountains and the ocean, though...
Kelly, I will be very happy if I don't see anymore snow this winter. This will be our last winter in Nebraska and I know we won't get more than a small dusting here and there on the Oregon Coast.
How I love the open sky, the feeling of freedom you have captured.
I have read through your posts, so MANY that I haven't committed on, and please accept my heartfelt apologies for being so absent. I'm not sure what's happened to me with blogging, my passion for writing posts and commenting on others has greatly diminished, but I always enjoy what you share. What you have to say about what you've read. xo
Meredith, no need to apologize! I read a lot of posts and never comment, either. Life is just too busy to sit in front of a computer for hours on end. Thanks for popping in every now and then. I'll probably get pretty quiet in the next few months as we prepare to move. Once we're settled, I may be back to blogging several times a week. We shall see!
There is something wonderful about the peaceful prairie. On and on it goes. Calm.
ReplyDeleteDeb, it's calm until the wind picks up. ;) But, yes. It is a peaceful environment.

ReplyDeleteKay, I'm ready for mountains, evergreens and the ocean! Getting closer... :)

DeleteThe fields are endless. That's the way I like my snow - sparse.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I like my snow like that, too. Actually, I like enough to cover the ground, but once it gets dirty from the traffic, I'm over it!
DeleteAre snow is a bit sparse right now, but we have a huge storm headed this way. blah. lol
