Travels:
As I mentioned above, we were on the road for three weeks, traveling down Highway 101 to Santa Rosa, then over to the Sacramento area, then north to Dunsmuir, and back up into Oregon. It was a great trip, and as always, we took our time, staying at ten different campgrounds and homes. We got to camp with some friends from our neighborhood, visit one of my aunts, and catch up with some good friends (one of whom I've known since elementary school!). The weather was wonderful, with the exception of some rainy days in Oregon. Typical!

ReplyDeleteAw, thank you Jenclair! We so enjoy our travels. We're looking forward to a trip up the coast with our friends at the end of the month. We also have a big trip planned for the fall -- Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming - mainly spending most of our time in the Tetons. I can't wait!

DeleteI have never seen a trillim so large! Impressive. Love your monthly roundup. I started that book I asked you and JoAnn about, Unsheltered, and I liked the beginning....but the other story line isn't grabbing me. I have such a stack of books to read so, might abandon. I'll let you kow.

It was the largest trillium that I've ever seen, Tina! I think you are responding to Unsheltered the same way JoAnn and I did. Current storyline is more interesting than the historical part. Maybe just read those sections. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks, JoAnn! It was a fun trip, and yes, I was also surprised that I got in three hefty books. I'm planning on starting another later in the week (A Little Life). I'm really in the mood for longer books these days.

DeleteI'll keep you posted, JoAnn. Everyone said Demon Copperhead was a tough one, but I thoroughly enjoyed Kingsolver's writing and storytelling. We'll see how I do with A Little Life. I think this is my "tome" era! :)

Thanks, Susan! We've done this trip so many times, but it's fun to revisit locations, as well as catching up with good friends and family. Lots of beauty in this world of ours!
