I still need to read this one and I will get to it eventually. Seriously, Les, you're ready for the "Fifty Shades of whatever the heck those books are about" to be over? I'm shocked! LOL
I stood in a B&N a couple of weeks ago holding a copy of the first one, flipping through it and giggling out loud about the narrative. This one man was near me and he kept looking over at me. I think I scared him away totally when I snorted with laughter as I put the book back on the shelf. Nope, not even for you would I purchase it. ;-)
I ordered in a huge quantity at work and set up a small table for display. I also have it on my endcap and in a couple of other key locations. I sold 8 copies on Thursday and probably close to a dozen yesterday. My personal goal is to sell 50 copies each week until the end of summer. Maybe that will help get it to the bestseller list. Word of mouth works wonders.
I loved listening to this book as well but just haven't been able to get a review put together for it. And Wingfield couldn't be any sweeter. She's only about 2 hours from Dallas and so wish that she'd make another visit to the bookstore. Big thanks to you and JoAnn for recommending this one to me!
Wasn't the audio fabulous?! I loved that reader's southern accent. Boy, if Jenny ever makes it back to Dallas, let me know. I'll have to fly down for that!
Wasn't it wonderful? Everyone I've talked to has said the exact same thing. Unforgettable characters and one of the best books read in ages. They don't come along very often, do they?
I couldn't agree more -- sick of seeing Shades of Grey up there. I loved Wingfield's book.
ReplyDeleteI'm anxious to see what Wingfield writes about next!

DeleteI hope it winds up on the bestseller list, too... such an amazing book!

DeleteBestsellers have never necessarily been the same as great books. :<)
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth!

DeleteThis book was one of the best I've read in a long time. I cried so much and sat there thinking about the characters long after I finished it!!!
