  1. Beautiful photos, but only if you can stay inside! My goodness, we have only been in the low 20's once this entire winter. Our temps were up to 78 last week. We are shivering today in the 60's. What a contrast!

  2. Wow, I wonder if Missouri got hammered in a similar fashion. Haven't heard from the home folks since last week. Stay warm, Les!

  3. Now i feel bad complaining about upstate New York. They keep canceling classes up here for way less than that.

  4. You weren't kidding when you said you had a blizzard! If only there was some way to share! ;P
Perfect time to curl up with Frankie, some tea and a good book. Stay warm!

And I thought we were supposed to get spring early this year? Once again our sidewalks here are covered with snow. Ugh. I kindly asked the manager of the Family Dollar store by my house to shovel their sidewalk, so I wouldn't have to walk in the busy street (they have yet to shovel it even one time this winter!!!) and was rudely told it wasn't their responsibility--it is the city's sidewalk. Nice, eh? Not a sorry, nothing--you's think they would treat the people in the neighborhood better. I just hope it all melts quickly. Not fun slogging though 8" of snow!!

  6. That sounds and looks like I remember winter in Lincoln. We don't have the snowfall, but the winds are bitterly cold. Bad time for the arthritis.

  7. Are you sure you didn't take these standing in my backyard? You know, time traveled to Illinois or something? :)

  8. Jenclair - I was lucky and didn't have to go out in that nasty weather. And today is gorgeous. Cold (24), but at least the sun's shining and it's not snowing!

Bybee - I think a lot of Missouri got hit with rain and tornados. We were on the other side of the front and got the snow.

Cami - Oh, I don't know. You guys got that huge storm! However, it sure does seem like we've had an awful lot of snow this winter. Much more than I remember ever having.

Nat - Would I kid? ;) It was a perfect day to curl up with my book and kitty. I think I had coffee instead of tea, though.

Danielle - Ooh, I'd be very upset if I had to walk through snowy sidewalks like that! I'm surprised the city hasn't taken care of it or fined/ticketed the manager of Family Dollar.

Booklogged - Hmm, I wonder if I can blame the wind and cold on my terrible headaches. This past week has been awful for me. I don't usually have too many headaches, but this one won't seem to quit.

Bellezza - What? You don't remember? I was there. We had a lovely chat, ate tons of great food, drank too much wine, and laughed ourselves silly. Remember? Nancy was there, too.

  9. Us too! We had a huge storm last night and this morning it was sooo sunny! All the icicles fell off - it was dangerous. Those photos are making me cold!

  10. Nessie - Nice to see you again! Our weather has improved greatly this weekend. The sun's out and we're in the high 50s, so lots of snow melting. Looks like we'll have a nice week, too. Might even get to do some grilling!

  11. Wow, gorgeous. I don't think your weather could be any further from what we're experiencing. Peek in my sidebar to see a couple of photos of trees in bloom. There's almost too much to photograph (although not in my yard - I don't have any forsythias or azaleas because they're just a bit too pollen-heavy).

  12. Nancy - As usual, your photos rock! I love the shot of the moon. And the pics of the shrubs - star magnolia and a viburnum bush?? - are lovely. But the real winner is the gargoyle under your Now Reading section. I love it!! :)
