Twue Wuv

Since Rod is in Kentucky on business, I thought I'd surprise him with an anniversary wish via my blog.

One Friend
(Dan Seals)

I always thought you were the best
I guess I always will.
I always thought that we were blessed
And I feel that way still.
Sometimes we took the hard road
But we always saw it through.
If I had only one friend left I'd want it to be you.

Sometimes the world was on our side

Sometimes it wasn't fair.

Sometimes it gave a helping hand

Sometimes we didn't care.

'Cause when we were together

It made the dream come true.
If I had only one friend left I'd want it to be you.

Someone who understands me
And knows me inside out.
Helps keep me together
And believes without a doubt,
That I could move a mountain
Someone to tell it to.
If I had only one friend left
I'd want it to be you.

To my very best friend.

Thank you for the best 19 years of my life.

You are my one true companion.

Here's to another 19 years of mawidge. At least. ;)

I love you.

  4. This makes me cry, Les. Beautiful words, especially in light of the wonderful joys, and the deep sadness you have had. You couldn't have chosen a better song. And Happy Anniversary from me, too.

  6. That seems a very fitting song indeed, and I'm sure it goes both ways!

Anyway, a very happy anniversary, you old married people! We've got you beat by 14 1/2 years, but then again, I'm ten years older than you. :)

OK, do you hear that? That sound is me smacking my head. I can't believe I didn't tell you Happy Anniversary. I have it on my calendar and have been reminding myself since the weekend. Of course, what did I go and do? Forgot, the day of. I'm so sorry. That's a bummer that Rod is away. You guys are an inspiration to us and we wish you many more years together. Sorry again and I'm sorry you have such a dope for a sister-in-law.

    Lesley;

The music of Nancy Griffin is so lovely. I adore Emmylou and Nancy and she often collaborate.

Your annivesary blog was so beautiful. The song lyrics were perfect.

I wish you many, many years of a good solid relationship. You have certainly been through the worst that can ever happen to a couple. Your marriage must have been made stronger and that is a beautiful testament.

Happy Anniversary and many more to come.

    Gayla

  15. Thanks for all the lovely anniversary wishes. We celebrated a day late with a delicious dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Yummmmm!

Nan - The Dan Seal's song has been "our song" since we first started dating in 1986.

  17. Oh, you two are great! What a huge blessing, and my sincere congratulations to both of you. You make a beautiful pair.

There's a quote I read once, What is marriage if not to make life better for the other? and I think you exemplify that perfectly.
