Dreamers of the Day

I am so excited!! I just learned that Mary Doria Russell has a new book due out in March! It's been almost ten years since I met Ms. Russell at a small book conference in Cleveland and I've been anxiously awaiting word of a new publication. The Sparrow remains one of my all-time favorite books ever. It's one I love to hand sell to customers and currently have it on an end cap (display) with eleven other favorites. A Thread of Grace is another memorable novel that I simply must make time to read a second time.

You can read more about the author and her books here and, of course, pre-order a copy of Dreamers of the Day here.

  1. I too, really liked The Sparrow and the sequel Children of God. I haven't read A Thread of Grace.

I'll be getting an ARC from LibraryThing and Random House for Dreamers of the Day soon, and I'm really excited about being able to read and review it early!

  3. I loved A Thread of Grace, and really intended to read The Sparrow and Children of God but somehow that intention never moved into reality. Maybe this will inspire me to get them read and then move on to her new novel.

  4. 3M - I'm so excited! I wrote to Ms. Russell and she's going to send me an ARC of the book!! I agree. It'll be fun to read & review it early. :)

Oh, and you really need to read A Thread of Grace. It's nothing like The Sparrow and Children of God, but it's very well written. Lots of research went into it, as I recall.

Katya - I'm thrilled, too. I'll probably stop whatever I'm reading and get to it as soon as it arrives.

Jenclair - Oooh, do try to fit The Sparrow in sometime soon. Personally, I was a bit letdown by Children of God, but The Sparrow will always be on my lifetime list of favorites. Such memorable characters, I still think of them after almost 10 years!
