Was A Sunny Day...

...not a cloud was in the sky. Not a negative word was heard, from the people passing by.

Yesterday's high was 71 degrees.

The sun didn't set until 7:30!

On Weatherbug, Windchill was replaced with Heat Index.

Annie-Dog and I took a long walk in the park.

I can't stop smiling.

I love this weather!

Only one more week of winter. :)

  3. Great pics! I like Annie's shadow. Much, much colder here, but still lots of sunshine, and those long evenings are divine. I feel spring everywhere.

  4. Nat - I'm glad, too! It's not quite as warm today, but at least it's in the 60s. Off to walk again...

Kay - Yes, it's absolutely the most wonderful season of all. I love it, too, although I'm rather fond of summer, as well.

Nan - Good grief! Where do you see Annie's shadow??? The first two pics show the shadow from the little statue of the reader. The third picture is of the sun streaming in through the blinds. Sorry. No shadows of Miss Annie. Maybe she'll let me take a picture when we go for a walk today. She really doesn't like the camera! We think it's because we've always taken indoor shots and she doesn't like the flash. It's almost comical the way she disappears the minute one of us turns the camera on. She knows the sound!

  5. It's a bit warmer here, the daffodils have flowered. But it was very windy yesterday. So far today looks calmer, with rain on the way.

  6. My poor child. She keeps asking me if Spring is next week. Well, yes, I say, but it won't really feel like Spring here for awhile. Why- well we live in one of the coldest placest in the US. "Why do we do that Mom?" Hmmm.

  9. 71 degrees? Our daffodils are shivering in the bitter wind!

  10. Oh it has been SO pretty here the last few days!!! It's made me so happy. We're supposed to have storms today though :( It's good though, since we're in a drought. But I want the sunshine!!

  11. Bookplease - Well, it's gotten chilly again (38) with snow in the forecast. My bulbs are just beginning to peek through the soil and it'll be another month until they start blooming. We could have snow up until the end of April!

Tara - I'm with your daughter! Why, oh, why do I live in the Midwest?? :)

Gayla - Ah, we're due to get more snow, too. Yep, at least it won't last very long. I'm ready for those April showers!

I'm only a few chapters into Bragg's new book, but I'll let you know what I think as soon as I'm finished. I loved All Over But the Shoutin', but never could get into Ava's Man, in spite of numerous tries.

Karen - Our daffs won't be up for another month. They're just beginning to poke through. I do love this time of year, though. I get so eager to see all the new growth and greenery. Even Annie-dog seems excited, rolling around in the dry grass, scampering around the yard like a frisky colt.

Heather - I'll even take the sunshine with cold temps. There's just something about those long, dreary winter days that make me so appreciate these sunny spring days. I love knowing that not only is spring around the corner, but summer won't be too far away. I love the long, hot days when I can go outside in shorts & sandals, open the windows, walk in the park, kayak on a lake, ride my bike, yadayadayada. I'm a California girl at heart, ya know?

  12. Oh, I'm so envious. We had a mini-blizzard last evening. A whole new blanket of snow covered up what bare ground was starting to show through. I had to come to grips with the fact that we wouldn't be coloring our Easter eggs outside this year. No crocuses or daffodils even showing forth a bit of greenery yet. I am longing for those spring walks looking for buds swelling on the trees, etc.

It is reassuring to know there are places where the weather is behaving. Enjoy it.

  13. 71? Not happening here! It was a freezing rain when I walked out of school today at 5, accumulating a bit on the roads. I miss sunshine. By now, my days feel a little overshadowed by dreariness. (I really like the shadow of the angel on the wall; as if you can see the ones surrounding us.)

  14. Booklogged - Well, our weather keeps fluctuating and it hasn't been quite as warm as when I posted this blog entry. Today, however, it a lovely sunny day with temps in the high 50s. Nice enough to take the dog on a long walk, but definitely not in the 70s! At least we haven't had anymore snow. (Although we did have some flurries on Sunday afternoon.)

Bellezza - See my note above to Booklogged. It's certainly not a balmy 70 today. Nice, but not warm. We had rain yesterday, but it was warm enough that it didn't freeze, thank goodness!

    I like the angel's shadow, too. :)
