Only one new book this week, but it's one I've been excited about ever since reading Bellezza's review. Thanks, Mom! I can't wait to start it!

I'm intrigued by this book. I hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know this book struck you so much! I certainly would have bought a copy for you. However, I'm glad that your mother did. It was a wonderful read to me, reminding me of all the times I've been in Paris although none of them were at Christmas. He is particularly good at painting a true picture of the Parisiennes because he is an Australian; he has an outsider's vision which is very clear.
ReplyDeleteStill, one can't helping loving the French. Remind me to tell you the story of how I bought my wedding dress there, where everyone was a size, oh, let's say TWO, and I felt like a behemoth even though I'm only around a twelve. Okay, I'd like to be a ten again, but still...12 worked for Marilyn, did it not? :)
Ack! I'm so envious (in a supportive, Christmas way, of course). I tried to weasel a review copy out of the publisher a while ago, but no dice. I can't wait to read your review!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog from a comment you left on caribousmom's blog. When I saw that you were in NE, I had to check it out! I'm from Lincoln and am now in Omaha. So fun to find bloggers from around here!
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of this one but I do love the cover!
ReplyDeleteDiane - I'm intrigued, too. I'm anxious to read it. I might save it for the flight to Florida later this month.
ReplyDeleteBellezza - Any book you love always piques my interest! How sweet of you to want to have bought me a copy. I was thrilled when my mom sent it to me and can't wait to curl up with it later this week or maybe on the flight to FL. I've never been to Paris and have a feeling this will make me want to go even more.
Andi - And I can't wait to read the book! Sorry you weren't able to get a review copy. Maybe Santa will bring one for you.
Lisa - Hi, neighbor!! Thanks for stopping by with your comment. I'll have to check out your blog. It'll be nice to have a local who can commiserate about the cold weather with me. When did you live in Lincoln? We've been here since '92 with a gap of a couple of years when we were in TX. I work at the SouthPointe Barnes & Noble.
Staci - Isn't it gorgeous?! I'll let you know what I think. Or, you can pop over to Bellezza's blog and read her glowing review.
I read this book during the holidays last year, and enjoyed it as well. I hope you do, too!
ReplyDeleteLesley - I'm planning to take it on our trip to Sanibel later this week. I have a feeling it will be a winner. Merry Christmas!
