Read-a-Thon (2010) Mini Challenge

Mini Challenge - Book Title Sentence

Bart, of Bart's Bookshelf, is hosting this hour's mini challenge. I had so much fun with this and could have shared a couple of photos! I also had to refrain from using too many book. Great challenge, Bart. Thanks!

  3. Brilliant sentence, Les. These book titles are curiously poetic.

M.F.K. Fisher? I borrowed The Art of Eating, a compilation of five of her most well known books. I love it. Every book is composed of little clever essays loosely written on the topic of food. She is wonderful.

Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.

Think of how strong we're getting today! At least mentally. Even if we're not on our beloved bicycles! :)

It's gorgeous weather here today in Illinois, so sunny. I actually found it easier to read the last go around in October with the darker, rainier type of day. Anyways, have a great beer with your friends (my mother in law is due any minute!) and I'll see you later. XOXO

  6. Kailana - I had a lot of fun with this challenge. And, I agree--I thought it was poetic, too.

Bekah - Thanks for the encouragement!

Debbie - Aw, thanks! I really like the idea of this meme/challenge. And now I feel like I should move all four of these books to the top of my TBR stack(s) and challenge myself to read them in order. I've heard great things about all except When the Elephants Dance. That one's an old ARC and I've never heard any remarks (good or bad) about it.

Thanks for the recommendation for The Art of Eating. It sounds like something I would love!

Bellezza - Oh, I would've loved to have been out on my bike, though. It was such a gorgeous day. Maybe today, if I can get through my long, long list of chores.

I agree about the fall read-a-thon vs. this one. I really didn't get nearly the pages/hours in as I did last year. One beer turned into two and three hours later we were home and busy with dog-walking and dinner prep. I pretty much crashed around 9:30. I'll get my stats posted later today. I hope you had fun!
