  3. I love this picture. And I just saw your post about your husband (I'm way behind) and the comment where you said he's okay -- glad to hear that.

  6. Holly - That's what I thought. Very surreal. Almost a Hollywood image.

Kathy - It was pretty powerful. 70-80 mph straight-line winds, but no tornado. Gotta love livin' in the Midwest. :)

Katya - Oh, yeah. Hubby's doing just fine. He's played tennis a couple of times now and is 100% healed. Thanks for the concern!

Staci - It was. See my remark above to Kathy.

SuziQ - I wish I had taken it!! Very impressive, don't ya think? By the way, what kind of P&S camera do you own? I'm taking a poll. :)

  7. What a great shot! My parents were driving home from Fremont to Lincoln when that storm hit. It was so bad that they were afraid to pull over least they not be fully off the road or someone else was driving off the road. $6000 in damages to their car, frayed nerves, and a great story to tell--I'm sure glad I didn't know they were on the road or see that picture at the time!

  8. What a liveable city Lincoln looks like, though I don't think I could bear the fear of tornadoes. :<)

  9. Lisa - How scary for your folks!!! I can't imagine being out on the road during that storm. Was the $6,000 in damage due to hail?? Yikes!! Glad they're ok, though.

Nan - It's a great city! And I'm not as frightened by the tornado threat as I was when we first moved here in 1992!

  10. Beautiful picture. Seeing the capitol brings back memories of living in Lincoln back in '63. Ages ago!! I'm surprised and delighted to that development has not obscured that building. I do remember seeing a tornado circle the city once. Pretty scary stuff.

  11. Framed - Lincoln has grown, but there still isn't a building as tall as the capitol. I think it's a city (or state?) ordinance.

Goodness, I'm very happy to say I've never seen a tornado circling the city!! Yikes!
