Wow. I have to say this is pretty slick. Even though I own an iPad, this is very tempting!

  4. I'm not sure how I feel about the addition of color. What I'm looking forward to in an ereader (don't have one yet, but doing my Christmas list-making early!) is the whole eInk screen thing. I like the other features of the new Nook, but I don't think it's the direction I'll end up going.

  5. I've had a Nook for about a month and I love it. I am so going to get this new one too. Someone in my family can have my old one for Chritmas.

  6. Coffee and a Book Chick - I hope you get one, too. If I didn't own an iPad, I'd treat myself to a NOOKcolor!

Janet - There are a lot of apps that make this device very appealing. I can't wait to get my hands on a demo. Hopefully, we'll be getting them soon!

Staci - It's pretty slick. Hmmm, maybe I should give my husband my iPad (3G), sell his (iPad WiFi) and buy one of these. :)

Erin - I know some people don't like the idea of an back-lit screen, but honestly, it doesn't bother me at all (when reading on my iPad). The eInk is nice, though, for reading outside.

Melanie - Good idea! See my comment to Staci. :)

  7. Yeah...just when I buy a regular Nook in black and white. Which now, practically needs those antennaes around which one can wrap tin foil for a clearer picture. I make the comparison for by-gone gadgets' sake. I think I should probably just stick to good old ink and paper. ;)

  8. Bellezza - I know, I know. Rod tells me there's going to be a 7" iPad. Sigh. I probably should've waited, but I do love it and am glad I had it for all our travels this summer. Luddites unite! ;)
