  7. Diane - It's a marvelous place to ride. So far, it's my favorite trail in the area.

Jenclair - It was a spectacular day. I hope to get out there again before winter sets in.

SuziQ - You know, it was nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be. Very few inclines and gorgeous scenery. It was a fun day.

Andi - I can't wait to do it again, but I'm afraid the fields won't be as pretty now that fall is really upon us.

    Staci - Thank you! :)

Joy - 60 miles sounds like a lot, but we stopped several times to rest and eat/drink. My new goal is 75 miles. :)

  8. Holy Smokes - 60 miles! I'm beyond impressed. Seeing that sign to Eagle perked me right up. My dad was the principal of Eagle school for 2 years after he retired from the Army. We stayed in Lincoln those 2 years so my mother could graduate from the University of Nebraska. She had 7 children while she went to school. I remember my brother and I talking to her in the evenings while she set with a book in her lap. She was very patient but after awhile she would ask if we'd like her to read Shakespeare to us. We were out there in a flash.

  9. Booklogged - I have to admit that I was impressed myself! I was surprised that the 60 miles was so easy to achieve. My goal for 2012 is to ride 100 miles in one day. We'll see how that goes.

I remember you mentioning that you had lived in Lincoln as a child, but I'm not sure if you said anything about your dad's position as principle of Eagle Elementary. My daughter went to school there up to junior high. From there she went Waverly. Such a small world...
