  1. That's great! I have been seeing this book around a lot lately.

(Did you start The Art of Fielding? Curious how you are liking it. I have it but haven't started it yet...)

  2. I am woefully behind in my reading of Mo Hayder's books. I need to work on remedying that.

  4. Kelly - It's a fantastic thriller and I'm happy to see it win this award.

Yes, I started The Art of Fielding (on audio) last week. I'm enjoying so far, but can't tell if it's going to be one I love or just like.

SuziQ - If you like Tana French, you'll love Mo Hayder. I can't wait to spend some time on the deck later this afternoon with her first Caffery book, Birdman.

Staci - You're in for a thrilling ride!! Enjoy.

  5. I love mysteries! There's nothing like escaping into one; thanks for telling me this won the Edgar. Now it's time to load it into my nook.

By the way, I bought a nook tablet for my niece's graduation, but I didn't give it to her. Yet. It's sitting on my dresser calling my name. The only thing is, do I need a third nook?! Probably not...

  6. Picked this up from the library last night; 3/4 of the way through it this morning. It's awesome! Thanks for the heads up, it's just what I've needed to escape into. (Things are a bit stressful around here, with father's dear heart (literally) and wrapping up the year.)

  7. Bellezza - THREE Nooks? Seriously? I inherited Rod's Simple Touch when he bought a tablet (not B&N's). I haven't used it once. I keep thinking I might read the new Stephen King, which Rod downloaded on to the Nook, but so far, it's not calling to me. By the time I read all my "real" books, the Simple Touch will be obsolete! Ha!

So, how did you like Gone?! I suspect you're finished by now. You were zipping through it very quickly. It's so good, isn't it? I'm reading the fist in the Caffery series (Birdman), but haven't gotten very far.

And don't ask about The Secret Garden. All I've done with it is pull it off a shelf and add it to a stack on my office desk. Fail.
