Oh please let's hope we don't start having snow in October! Makes for such a long winter - so much harder to find the beauty in this state when everything is brown.
You're right. It does make for a long winter. I'm going to bet we don't see any snow until after Christmas. I'm certainly not going to put my hoses away for another month or so. Not with the temps staying near 80!
Cooler temperatures? Good. Rain? I'll send you a bit of ours, it's looking a bit wet for this weekend. But keep that crazy white stuff away until December! ;-)
Nice pictures! Even if they do strike a tiny bit of dread into my heart for the coming of the always too lengthy winter. :-)
We've been bouncing up and down in temps since I posted these pics. We were at 82 yesterday. Supposed to get down to freezing tonight. Typical fall weather.
Thanks, Julie. It was a gorgeous snowfall, as I recall. I'm glad we haven't seen any of it yet... We are supposed to get down to freezing tonight, but it's clear, so we're probably safe for a few more weeks. Given our drought situation this summer, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see snow until 2013.
My heart about stopped thinking that these were recent pictures!
We have rain right now. All weekend. For the first time in a long time. I wish I could send it your way because I had planned on going to Oktoberfest in McKinney this weekend but definitely not in the rain. I'm so bummed!!
We had a light drizzle (with lightning, though!) this morning, which was nice after temps in the 80s yesterday. Tonight we'll dip down to 32 or so. I wish you could've sent us some of that rain last weekend, but it was gorgeous and we finally got our fire ring built. Now to get some wood and marshmallows. :)
We need lots of moisture here in Michigan too!! It just poured for about 20 minutes and now the sun is out. I want it to hold off until later tonight because Marc's Senior pics are today!!!
We don't have any plans this weekend (other than watching football on Saturday night), so I'd be thrilled if it rained the entire weekend. Somehow I doubt that will happen. It'll be cold (freezing?) in the morning, but warm up to mild fall-like temps the rest of the weekend. Oh, well. At least there's no snow in the forecast. Not sure if that's a good thing or not! Guess I should think about putting the hoses away and getting the furnace serviced. Hard to get in that mindset when it's been in the 80s during the day.
I'll just take a nice cool breeze.
ReplyDeleteSounds good. Make mine a cool breeze with a gentle rain.
DeleteI'm ready for fall but not for snow!
ReplyDeleteI'm only thinking of a couple of inches, but I'll settle for a couple of days of rain. :)
DeleteSo unnatural but beautiful. Last Halloween was like that for us.
ReplyDeleteI remember that! It was unseasonably warm here last Halloween. I'm sure I'll be complaining about the cold & snow in a few more months....
DeleteI would like to see a lot of that this year!
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to hold my breath, Pam. "They" say it's going to be a warmer winter here in the Midwest. Sigh.
DeleteBrrr - a chilly reminder of what lies ahead!
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure. We're supposed to have a warmer winter. I wouldn't mind so much if we could at least get some rain.
DeleteI'm glad that was 3 years ago and not recently!!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I really wouldn't mind, but check with me again in January! ;)
DeleteI'm wishing for a cooler breeze, but snow? Not. Cool pics.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gayle. I'll take a gentle breeze, cooler temps and a few rain showers. Is that too much to ask for? ;)
DeleteI said right out loud 'snow?!' when I saw the pictures. :<)
ReplyDeleteLOL! I thought it'd get someone's attention. ;)

DeleteThese are all gorgeous but I absolutely adore the rosebud with the snow on it.
ReplyDeleteWe're currently enjoying a typical Oregon September - best weather of the year - cool mornings and warm afternoons. Love it.
