It was quite touching, although we had our own private 'ceremony' after The Fleet of Flowers. We chartered a boat and scattered my stepdad's ashes off the point near Little Whale Cove, where my folks live. The weather was absolutely perfect and nobody got seasick! :)
Beautiful photos! I just had to google Fleet of Flowers and see what it was all about - sounds like a very moving ceremony/event.
ReplyDeleteIt was very touching. We didn't go out with the fleet, but went out later to scatter my stepdad's ashes off Depoe Bay.
DeleteI was wondering what all the greenery on the boat was. I bet that was gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt was. It was a beautiful day and memorial.
DeleteWhat a wonderful tribute and remembrance! The photos are beautiful, Les. I imagine it was a very touching ceremony.

DeleteWhat a lovely ceremony.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa. I now know where I want my ashes scattered...
DeleteWhat a beautiful tradition--I wondered what the greenery was but I bet that provided such a feeling of calm. Such stunning pictures!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful tradition and I'm glad we got to see the fleet go out. We headed out on our own chartered boat after the fleet returned.
