  1. Is that a type of seaweed? It looks like spaghetti.

    1. Yep, this is the kind of seaweed that is typical in SoCal. It's called Giant kelp, Macrocystis pyrifera.

  2. At first, when the picture was materializing, I thought it was some fabulous pasta dish, too. A wonderful close-up, making me (happily) envious of your lovely vacation.

    1. Funny that you and Kathy both thought this was pasta! :)

Some day, you and I should travel to San Diego together. I could show you all my favorite spots.

    1. Funny, it's not so unusual to me. It's pretty much what I grew up swimming around as a child!

  4. Thanks, Vicki. I love the beach, too. I'm glad I'm able to spend some vacation time enjoying it since I live in land-locked Nebraska!

    1. I am really missing CA this weekend! I don't mind the snow (we got close to 3" yesterday), but these frigid temps are a nuisance. I need to go to the grocery store, but keep waiting for the temps to rise. Looks like the high will peak at 4 pm with a whopping 27 degrees. Better than tomorrow's, though.
