{Gratitude Lately}

Lately, I've been thankful for

Good friends
who make birthdays more fun

Friday nights
with homemade pizza
and a movie

Guac-in-a-box
from two special people
in Southern California

A job that helps me
justify my fondness
for wine and chocolate

Sweet memories
of a Christmas past

Fun memes
on Instagram

Birthday gifts
from thoughtful friends

Time to read
before lights out

Favorite foods
that I could eat
every.single.day

Cozy afternoons
that require nothing more
than a cup of tea

New bourbon
to keep us warm
on a frigid night
(-17 windchill!)

and this man,
who never once hesitates
to venture out with this pup,
no matter how damn cold it is!

Happy Sunday, friends!

  1. Such a lovely post! I'm grateful for early morning walks, the neighbors' dogs, and telephone chats with my mom.

    1. Thanks, Kathy! Ah, I wish I could take early morning walks, at least once it warms up. I'm usually up at 5 a.m., but heading to work by 6:45. That's too early for walking! I'm grateful for my weekly phone chat with my mom, too. Have a great week!

  2. Your homemade pizzas look so good! I can't believe your husband got all bundled up and took the dog out - poor dog looks underdressed compared to him!

    1. Lisa, it's the easiest pizza ever. I use a premade sauce, as well as premade crusts. I usually add Italian sausage with a few homemade meatballs (crumbled up). Sauteed onions, chopped tomatoes and mushrooms and lots of Mozarella. Delicious!

Yep, my husband is awesome. It was even colder this morning, a week later, when he took her out. Negative 7!!! Annie loves her winter walks. She runs and frolics like a puppy. The cold never bothers her.

  3. Love this post! I'm grateful for hearing our pump that was running and running before it burned up, the cool weather, and my kids who spend so much time with me.

    1. Thanks, Vicki! Sorry about your broken pump. What does it pump? Isn't it wonderful to have kiddos who enjoy your company? Have a great week!

    1. I could live on guacamole, Iliana. Sadly, we used our very last avocado from California. Now I have to rely on our grocery store and hope they aren't bruised and full of stringy things.

Yes, family tops my list, too. Have a great week!
