Little did I know back in 2006 that I would still be blogging 15 years later. What began as strictly a book blog has grown into one in which I write about food, music, TV & movies, puzzles, travel, and life on the Oregon Coast. Many of you have been with me from the very beginning, while others have recently landed on this page after mentions or links from fellow bloggers. I miss those who began this journey with me back in the early days of blogging, but have found many new friends along the way, and that's what keeps me here: the community of folks who share my enthusiasm for the things that bring me joy. These friendships have been especially important to me during this past year of the pandemic and I hope you all know that I appreciate each and every one of you who continues to read my posts and take the time to have a conversation with me through your comments.
Since I love lists and stats, how about a few to mark this day?

Wow! Congratulations on fifteen years of blogging. I'm glad you have stuck to blogging. I'm glad that we are blogging friends. One of these days we will meet in person.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we are too, Deb! Yes, one of these days when we are back out on the road visiting friends in TX, you and I shall meet.
DeleteCongratulations friend! So happy to have discovered your blog and following you for years now. Wishing you many more years of blogging!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Iliana. It's been wonderful and I hope to meet you in person someday!
DeleteSo happy you are still sharing after 15 years Les.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane. It's a lot easier to keep up with this now that I'm retired. :)
DeleteCongratulations and Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathy!
DeleteWoohoo! What a fantastic achievement! Well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marg. I never would have guessed I'd still be around with this 15 years later!
DeleteCongratulations! So many books over the years!
ReplyDeleteAh. I should have counted all the books! :)
DeleteCongratulations on 15 years of blogging... I'm so glad you're here!
ReplyDeleteThanks, JoAnn! I do hope we meet up someday.
DeleteWow, fifteen years! That's quite an accomplishment. I'm glad to have found you, and appreciate so much your wonderful book reviews. I'm looking forward to the next 15. XOXO
ReplyDeleteLaurel, it's kind of crazy. I've put the blog on hold a couple of times, but now that I'm retired, it's much easier to sit down and write about the books I've read. I love the new friendships and who knows, maybe we'll meet when we're back out on the road in our RVs! xoxo
DeleteRemember how much trouble you (and Rod) went to trying to get my computer to let me become a blogger. Now I know that the problem was that we didn't have a high enough speed then! Funny, you wouldn't think 2006 was that long ago, but in terms of technology it sure was. I'm just happy you are still here. So many have left. Some have died, some just closed up shop, some left their blogs up but never posted again. So, congrats on 15 years. Gulp.
ReplyDeleteNan, I do remember that! And, yes. So many have stopped blogging. Every now and then, when I go back to look at an old book review, I re-read the comments and am saddened that so many of those friends have stopped blogging. The list seems to get longer with each passing year. I'm so glad you have continued!
DeleteThanks, Vicki. The years have flown!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 15 years of blogging. I am just behind you at 13. I do miss the early bloggers. Seems many of them have given up their blogs or sadly, passed away! That lasagna recipe is quite good. I actually made it once after seeing one of her cooking shows.
ReplyDeleteSince you listed stats, I checked my comments and there are over 35K. I had a problem with commenting once and WordPress told me I had too many comments. What? Isn't that the point of a blog? To have comments. I was like, no... that's not that many.
In a little while I will be forced to move upstairs with my laptop because The Girl has an audition and will be using the space down here. We have no idea at this moment how any of this will pan out. Too many variables.
Thanks, Ti! We've been at this for a long time, haven't we? How odd that WordPress said you had too many comments. 35K is a lot, but as you said, isn't that the point? To have conversations with fellow bloggers?
