Poem du Jour - I Go Down to the Shore

I Go Down to the Shore

I go down to the shore in the morning

and depending on the hour the waves

are rolling in or moving out,

and I say, oh, I am miserable,

what shall--

what should I do? And the sea says

in its lovely voice:

Excuse me, I have work to do.

    1. Thanks, Vicki. It was taken from the path in our neighborhood on a gorgeous day a few years ago. I also love this poem, especially the line, "in its lovely voice."

  3. Haha! Exactly. A friend yesterday was saying that he sees God as being similar to the sea in this poem.
