So beautiful! Nice shots. We've got some twin fawns that have been born around here somewhere. Always lots of deer in our yard every day. They come and go, but those twins have been scampering around in the early cool temps lately. Cute!
Thanks, Kay. We used to see a few deer in our backyard when we first moved here (five years ago), but it's been a while since they've been around. It was nice to see this beauty the other morning! I'll bet those twin fawns are darling.
Such beautiful photos of the deer, Les. But...do they eat your landscaping? In Ashland, resident herds of deer are a serious problem. They eat everything! We tried planting things they weren't supposed to eat, and it didn't make any difference. They mowed everything down to the ground, even foxglove, which is toxic!! We ended up installing decorative cedar fencing and gates around our entire property to keep them out.
Laurel, we rarely see deer here and when we do, there may be just one or two. They haven't damaged our gardens, mainly grazing in the common areas of our community where there's some grass. Our friends in TX have a lot of deer in their neighborhood. Whe we were there a few years ago, we must have seen two dozen bedding down in a couple of front yards! They certainly can be a nuisance, can't they?

DeleteThat is stunning!
ReplyDeleteTina, it was a fun treat to spot this guy in our yard!
DeleteWhat great captures Les. So majestic.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane. We were thrilled to have the deer return to our neighborhood.
DeleteThanks, Vicki. I especially like the one with the sun glow on his ears.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful to see a deer so close with the small antlers. You were able to get close!
ReplyDeleteI was in the house for three of the shots, shooting through the windows with my zoom lens. :)
