Book Launch Party!

Last Sunday we hosted a book launch event for Rod's latest book, Sailing by Starlight. Close to 40 friends and neighbors showed up at our community rec center to hear Rod discuss the book, as well as take questions during a Q&A period, which was followed by a book signing. The party continued as we enjoyed delicious refreshments, chatting about the book and wishful thoughts of a movie deal. And, as one of the attendees remarked, "You don't need to be a sailor to enjoy this great adventure story!" If you need a Christmas gift, it's not too late to get a signed copy. Comment below and we can work out the details via email.

  2. That's a great photo of you two :-) and lovely picture of the cove too. Did Rod give a slide presentation? It looks like it went really well. My husband & I would've enjoyed being there. I bought my husband's copy on Amazon Canada so I hope the proceeds get back to you. He's reading the book slowly and enjoying it. Eventually I hope to get to it. Happy holiday season.

    1. Aw, thanks Susan. Yes, Rod gave a brief presentation, followed by a Q&A. It went very well, and he has another presentation lined up in a nearby community next month. I'm really happy to hear that your husband is enjoying the book. Rod's getting a lot of great feedback, which is wonderful.

    1. Thanks, Tina! Writing a book is one thing, but marketing a book is very challenging. We're depending on a lot of word-of-mouth!

    1. Helen, it was a fun evening! We continue to have folks ask for copies of the book to send out for Christmas. Next big push will be Father's Day, although it's not as if this book is just for men. I have talked to several women who have loved it.

    1. Thanks, Vicki! We've learned (from his previous publications) that it's very difficult to market a book unless you're a big name. We're hoping word-of-mouth and online reviews will help push sales.
