Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is technically Bookish Discoveries, but other readers have chosen to write about their new favorite authors discovered in 2025. I hope to use this post as a reminder to seek out more books by these authors.

You found some great authors!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your #TTT discoveries
Shelleyrae, I had 21 new-to-me authors in 2025 and these were the best of all of them. I love discovering new authors, especially if they have extensive backlists! Thanks for visiting.
DeleteI can’t wait for the Project Hail Mary film in March!
ReplyDeleteLydia, I'm excited about that film, too! I listened to the audio, which was almost like watching a film in my mind. Can't wait to see how they portray Rocky! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteThe Rose Code looks amazing! I hope you find many more amazing authors this year 😊.

~ Marwah @ The Booklore Fairy
Marwah, The Rose Code was a great novel and I hear that a lot of her books are just as good. I have The Briar Club in my stacks for later this year. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteKate Quinn will be speaking at the library conference at the end of March. I hope to get to hear her speak.
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful if you can, Deb. I'll bet she's a very interesting speaker!
DeleteGreat list of authors. I've enjoyed Kate Quinn's WW II books and would have sworn I'd read Diamond Eye, but Goodreads doesn't show I have. Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteDefinitely hope Laura Spence-Ash writes another book, I liked the one you have pictured.
Have you read The Martian by Andy Weir? that was my first and then the movie was fantastic, one of my favorites (plus Matt damon is in it, love him). Did not like his second book but would be happy to read another of his when he writes one.
Thanks, Tina! I tried The Martian when it first came out, but it didn't grab me. We watched the movie, but I don't remember much about it. Having read and loved Project Hail Mary, maybe I need to give The Martian a second chance.
DeleteI've only read The Alice Network by Kate Quinn and gave it 3 out of 5 stars. I really liked I Was Anastasia by Ariel Lawhon. I've been wanting to read something by Andy Weir. Good list, Les!
ReplyDeleteOooh, if you haven't read Project Hail Mary, I highly recommend that one (especially on audio). I may have to give I Was Anastasia another try. I started it a year or so ago, but didn't get very far.
DeleteNice list. I have read 6 from your list. My fav for a new to me author would maybe be Laura Spence-Ash (read in 2024). I had low expectations going in and her book captured me. I will look for what she writes next.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan. Yes, Spence-Ash is one to watch for! I did a little digging and found this after following her on Instagram. "Spence-Ash edited and revised her second novel, Body Burden, while she was at MacDowell. It traces the lives of three women over the course of the 20th century and the way in which each of their lives was touched by radium." Now to see if I can get my hands on a copy!
DeleteHow interesting. I didn't know about that book. Will see if it's available here. thx
DeleteGood luck, Susan!
DeleteThe Rose Code was my first book by Kate Quinn. I've enjoyed several other of her books, but The Rose Code remains my favorite.
ReplyDeleteJoy, I'm hoping to read more of Quinn's books this year. I have The Briar Club on my top shelf for later this spring, perhaps. After reading The Rose Code, I also added Code Girls by Liza Mundy, which was recommended by JoAnn (Gulfside Musings). I also want to re-watch The Imitation Game.
DeleteGreat list of new authors! Virginia Evans is a new favorite of mine, too, and I can't wait to see whether they'll polish up and publish one of her earlier unpublished novels. I'd be here for it! I've also enjoyed Ariel Lawhon, Kate Quinn, and Amy Krouse Rosenthal. Beyond That, the Sea is near the top of my tbr.
ReplyDeleteI love discovering new to me authors, JoAnn. Now to just follow-up and read more from their backlists!
DeleteThat's always the hardest part! ;-)
