Life Is Good

It's important to recognize and remember the good things in life, so I've decided to make a point of jotting down my weekly blessings.

So what made me smile last week?

  • Another 3-day weekend.
  • Beautiful winter sunsets.
  • A peaceful morning walk with Annie-Dog. What a gorgeous sunrise this morning!
  • Organized closets and pantry. What a good feeling.
  • 4 large bags of clothing donated to the Goodwill.
  • Dining room wall & ceiling are finally repaired! Time to paint.
  • Up-to-date on book reviews and emails.
  • A delicious meal (flat-iron steak with shrimp risotto) and a relaxing evening with good friends.
  • An hour-long massage. Ahhhhhhhhh.
  • Books in the mail from three dear friends.
  • Sunshine.

A wonderful list of blessing indeed.

Made me think - did I ever tell you about the book LIFE IS SO GOOD by George Dawson? A 98-year-old man who learned to read. I read it with my book group a couple of years ago. Gave it to my father-in-law for his birthday this last week. Bought it at....B&N here and thought of you.

  2. I love this post, Les! I find a happy moment every day. Writing them down would be a good thing as it gives us time to reflect on what is really important in life!!

  5. Kay - It's so easy to focus on the negative, so I'm trying to find the good in every single day. It helps that we're having such a beautiful winter. ;)

I think you did tell me about Dawson's book. I haven't read it, but you've inspired me to get a copy. Thanks for shopping at Barnes & Noble! :)

Staci - Glad you enjoyed it. It really does help to keep a list to remind me of all the positive aspects in my life.

Kailana - It was! I'm refreshed and ready to return to work tomorrow morning.

    Kathy - So true!

  6. Excellent post! It's so important to stop and acknowledge our blessings - what a great idea to write them down, too.

  7. Wow, 4 bags of donations in one weekend. Awesome. I only filled 1, but we did the coat closet about 2 weeks ago, so we're getting there. Slowly hacking away at the clutter.

I am behind on reviews, pretty much perpetually. Le sigh.

  8. wonderful wonderful things to be happy about! A massage sounds absolutely glorious. I have a gift certificate for one but keep forgetting to make the appointment. Would love to see a sunset or sunrise pic in your header! ;)

  10. JoAnn - I hope I can continue to do this every Monday. If I don't, I'm afraid my mom will worry about me. ;)

Nancy - Well, I'd been stockpiling the old, unused, out-of-style, too small clothes for a few months, so it was easy to bag 'em up and haul 'em off. Now to actually go through what's hanging on the racks and see if I can convince my husband to get rid of those shirts from 1988. ;)

I'm not reading terribly fast, so it's not too hard to keep up with the reviews. Check with me in another month.

Trish - Glad you enjoyed the post. The massage was amazing. I usually treat myself when we go to a resort, but I haven't had one in several years. This gal works just a few blocks from my house and I used a Groupon and now I'm hooked. I booked a second massage with her in two weeks. After that, I may try to get one once a month. She's very affordable! You should make time to get yours.

Andi - Thanks! In some ways it seems very Oprah-ish to post this list, but it helps me stay positive when I can so easily become cranky with my workday.
