It's important to recognize and remember the good things in life, so I've decided to make a point of jotting down my weekly blessings.
So what made me smile last week?
- Heated car seats!
- Friendly customers.
- Grilled Cheese Sandwiches & Campbell's Tomato Soup (Who says dinner has to be complicated?!)
- Listening to my husband play his guitar (serenading our dog while she eats her breakfast) at 5:30 a.m.
- Homemade turkey soup.
- A full day of nothing but cooking, blog-hopping and reading. Pure bliss.
- The scent of woodsmoke in the air.
- Little girls giggling with their mama at the park on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
- Leftover oatmeal pancakes (slightly chilled) with peanut butter.
- A freshly groomed dog.
Thanks for the reminder to enjoy the little things in life.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind a car with heated seats... Been cold the last week or so!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea this is - maybe I should do it too.
ReplyDeleteWe've been burning wood this afternoon, so I've had that scent today and it was wonderful. It reminded me of happy camping days with the Girl Guides when I was a teenager.
All lovely, but I'm especially fond of the heated car seats! I miss mine!
ReplyDeleteSo much to smile about here... I'm with you on the heated seats in the car!
ReplyDeleteI love your posts....they inspire me!
ReplyDelete:) Good points all. Love the inclusion of the little girls giggling!
ReplyDeleteLOVE heated seats!! I also keep mittens (yes, mittens) in my car--would love a heated steering wheel. ;) I've been meaning to do another 'ridiculously happy' post but just haven't had a chance lately.
ReplyDeleteKathy - You're welcome!
ReplyDeleteKelly - I leave for work at 6:45 and it really helps to have the seats warmed up. It's warmed up a bit again, so I can't complain. This has really been a mild winter. Wonder what that means for our summer?
Margaret - I hadn't planned to make it a weekly post, but it's kind of growing on me. Life is too short to focus on the negative rather than the positive.
We don't use our fireplace very often and it has those fake gas logs. It's tempted to replace it with a woodburning stove. That would certainly smell wonderful (and heat the house nicely)!
Andi - You don't have heated seats anymore?! Which car were they in?
JoAnn - My MiniCooper had them and I got spoiled, so I made sure to get the package that included them when I bought the Subaru. Love 'em!!
Staci - Thank you so much. It's been fun and I hope to continue in the coming months. I never seem to run out of things to include. Guess that's a good thing, eh?
Jenclair - They were so cute. They were in the swings and their mama was swinging with them. They were all giggling and enjoying the beautiful day. I love my neighborhood. We have such great parks!
Trish - Mittens (or lined gloves) are a requirement here, but I don't keep them in the car. They'd be freezing in the morning! I would love a heated steering wheel. Now that you mention it, I think a cooled steering wheel would also be welcome. It gets pretty hot here in the summer...certainly not as hot for as long as you guys, but long enough. I'd take the heat over the cold any day, though!
