Hello, Oregon!

Last week I was in Oregon helping my mom celebrate (belatedly) her 80th birthday. It was a wonderful trip and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my parents, as well as catching up with my three brothers and their families. Unfortunately, my husband (who rarely ever gets sick!) came down with a killer head cold and wound up staying home. We were all disappointed that he couldn't join us, but we managed to enjoy ourselves, in spite of his absence.

    1. Thanks, Andi. It was a great trip, in spite of Rod's absence. Another trip is in the near future, so we still get to have a nice little vacation together.

  3. Belated happy birthday to your Mom!
Your mother sent me the nicest comment when I did a post about Kris Kristofferson. Please give her my love and keep some for yourself!
    :-)
Beautiful photos, makes me long to go there.

    1. Thanks, Kay. I'll give her your birthday wishes. And thank you for your kind words. Most of those photos were taken with my phone camera. Not as good as my digital slr, but good enough!

    1. Diane, I know. I feel very blessed to have both parents (and their spouses) still in my life.

Rod is feeling much better and we are heading out to the Pacific Northwest in the near future. Fingers crossed I don't get sick! ;)

  8. Happy birthday to your Mom! I love your photos of your Oregon trip! In one more month, we'll be moving 30 miles north of McMinnville! That's let's-get-together-somewhere distance! I'm sorry Rod was sick and couldn't travel with you, but glad that you had time with your family to celebrate your Mom's 80th together.

I'm quite envious of your new home/location. What a beautiful area. I hope we can meet in McMinnville next time we're in Oregon. We're heading back out to the PNW very soon, but we'll be in WA this time around. Love both states!

  9. Happy birthday to your mother! Since I left goodreads, I've missed her writings about books, and her lists. I'm so happy she had her kids around her for the special day. She must be very happy where she lives. It looks so nice there.

    1. Thanks, Nan. I'll pass your kind words on to Mom. I think they are both very happy living where they do. It's a little piece of paradise, in my opinion.

    1. We were all disappointed he couldn't be there, but flying with a horrible head cold is no fun! I was disappointed, but understood. Been there, done that!

Yep, the Oregon coast is gorgeous, as it the valley near McMinnville.
