Heading West - Day Three

Day Three:

Rock Springs, Wyoming to Twin Falls, Idaho
364 miles
6.75 hours
Mostly sunny

Had we not had beautiful weather and the gorgeous scenery to admire as we drove, this would have been a pretty boring day. As it was, the leg from Ogden to Twin Falls was not my favorite part.

Gorgeous red rocks!

The Wasatch Mountains took my breath away with their beauty!

Excellent fish tacos and a Junction City Chocolate Stout.

Somewhere in Idaho. It reminded me of Nebraska.

  1. Such gorgeous scenery but it sure looks desolate. All the interstates around here are jam packed with cars, even in the rural parts of the state.

    1. This was a Sunday and while there weren't a ton of cars, there were a lot of semis (and RVs) on the interstate. The speed limit in spots was 80, but since we were driving a UHaul, we didn't get much over 60-65.

  2. The crazy thing, for me, about Out West is how few people live in lots of places. There's still lots of open country.

    1. Deb, I would have to agree. After growing up in San Diego and living in Fort Worth, I still find it strange to see so much undeveloped country.

  3. Those mountains and red rocks are gorgeous! I have a friend who moved to Utah last year because of the red rocks. She has some beautiful views from her backyard that's for sure!

    1. Iliana, there is something about the red rocks against a bright blue sky with puffy clouds that always takes my breath away. I'm eager to explore Utah in the coming years when we start traveling in our trailer. New Mexico has some beautiful views, too.
