I didn't take any photos of this RV park, so I'm including a few from their website. It's a nice park right off of Highway 95, 30 minutes north of Coeur d'Alene. It was the Fourth of July and every site was occupied with lots of families enjoying the day.

We didn't have any trouble crossing the border at Eastport. Had a delicious lunch at Farmhouse Kitchen in Ponderay, Idaho.

Only one day back in the United States and we were already missing Canada.

After polling our friends on social media, we chose Big City Coffee in Boise for lunch and coffees. We were not disappointed! The restaurant is very popular (and noisy!), so we opted to eat outside. The flies were annoying, but the food was delicious.

We got one of their famous cinnamon rolls to take back to the RV to have for breakfast the next day. They were HUGE! Before I cut it up, this one was about the size of a styrofoam take-out container. We also got a peach pie scone that was devoured before I could get a picture. We would definitely return, if we're ever in Boise again.

Another friend recommended a visit to the World Center for Birds of Prey. We didn't get to watch one of the outdoor demonstrations, but I did meet a 3-year-old hawk-eagle, which was pretty cool.

I also got to see a Harpy Eagle, a Barred Owl, and a Peregrine Falcon. 

Fun day!

Boise Riverside RV Park - Garden City, Idaho

Weather: Sunny & hot (72-80 degrees)

This travel day was even more gorgeous than yesterday's. We drove along the Salmon and Payette rivers, which were stunning. The drive was pretty hilly & windy, but we enjoyed ourselves, jotting down state campground information as we drove past, wishing we didn't already have reservations near Boise. We saw several "Game Crossing" and "Big Horn Sheep" signs, but never did see any animals.

We stopped for lunch at Sawtooth Luce's in Stanley. We had the place to ourselves and enjoyed our burgers, but a picnic lunch by the river would have been just as nice, if not better.

We arrived at our RV park late in the afternoon and got all set up only to discover a lot of wasps hanging out by the water hookups. I used some wasp spray, but they were in the grass and congregating around the picnic table, as well. It was pretty hot, so we weren't planning to spend a lot of time outside, but I also didn't want any to get in the RV.

Our dirt site was on a bit of a slope, which took a lot of blocks to get level. The park has full hook-ups, some grass & trees, laundry, showers, a dump station, and a 28-mile long greenbelt trail that leads to downtown Boise. The free WiFi was slow, but we had 4 bars on Verizon and 3-4 bars on T-Mobile.

Boise Riverside RV Park turned out to be one of our least favorite places to stay on this trip. It's basically a large gravel parking lot and the sites are too close together. There was a lot of dust, and as mentioned, the problem with swarms of wasps. Thankfully, neither of us got stung. I missed having my bike, which would have been great since the trail was right behind us, but I doubt we'll return to this spot. A state campground would be much more desirable.

Round Valley RV Park

Duration: 1 night 

Cost: $38/night

Weather: Sunny & warm

We took Highway 93 from Missoula to Challis, driving through the beautiful Bitterroot and Salmon National Forests. We drove past the ranch in Darby where Yellowstone is filmed, but no sighting of Kevin Costner. We crossed Lost Trail Pass (aka Chief Joseph Pass), which is very curvy with a long 25 mph 5% grade for 5 miles. Then we hit the wind along the Salmon River. But it was all so beautiful!

Round Valley RV Park, on the other hand, is barren, dusty, isolated and looks like the perfect spot for a zombie outbreak. The mountain range to the east of us was pretty, though.

The RV park has full hook-ups, gravel pads, grass, trees, spacious sites, laundry, and free showers. We had 5 bars on both Verizon and T-Mobile. With our AAA discount, the overnight cost was reasonable, but unless we had no other options, I doubt that we'd return. Boondocking next to the river would be much more pleasant.
