Favorite Audios of 2020

These were all so good! While American Dirt earned an overall 5/5 rating, Nothing to See Here was my favorite audiobook of the year.

  1. Along with reading, I also listened to some of Little Fires Everywhere and that was good. Such a great book. Loved The Kind Worth Killing too. Now I just need to read, or listen, to the others!

  2. I heard from many that Daisy Jones on audio was fabulous. I wonder what happened with the TV series. They were even going to write music for the show.

    1. Ti, it took me a little while to get in the groove of Daisy Jones, but once I did, I was hooked. I wonder if COVID caused problems with getting the TV series filmed. I'd watch it!

  3. I've read 3 of these books - American Dirt, Little Fires Everywhere, and The Kind Worth Killing. The last one is the only one I listened to and I remember it being really good. Creepy, but good.

    1. Kay, The Kind Worth Killing was pretty intense. I like his books. You might enjoy Nothing To See Here. I never would have picked it up had it not been for all the rave reviews (for the audio) and I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it!

  4. I've listened to three of these (Nothing to see Here, Little Fires Everywhere, and The Dutch House) and they were all favorites. Guess I'd better listen to the rest of your list... starting with American Dirt! Thanks for sharing.

  6. Yes! I listened to 5 on your audio list ... and I must say Marin Ireland's reading of Nothing to See Here was also my favorite of 2019. So good. I also liked Daisy Jones and American Dirt. Marin Ireland is on a roll !

    1. Susan, you're right about Marin Ireland. Her reading of Nothing to See Here had me laughing out loud in one minute and put a lump in my throat in another. I haven't seen Sneaky Pete or The Umbrella Academy, but now I want to.

  7. I never used to be an audio person, but I have enjoyed listening to several this year. My husband and I both enjoyed listening to Ready Player One together.

    1. Deb, Ready Player One is on my all-time favorite audiobook list. Will Wheaton is such a great reader!! I wish I could get my husband interested, but he doesn't care for audiobooks. :(

  8. I am really keen to read Oona Out of Order. Maybe I should see if I can get this version on audiobook (the book has a different title here, so maybe a different audio treatment too!)

  9. I haven't read any of these but I'll be sure to look for them! I had a Target gift card to spend yesterday. I almost bought The Dutch House in print but I went with Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine instead.

    1. Jen, you can't go wrong with any of these books. And Eleanor Oliphant is a winner, too. It was one of my favorites in 2017. Enjoy!
