Read-A-Thon Update #6

This would be me with Annie-Dog sometime around Hour 10 or 11. Annie is working very hard at being invisible. She hates the camera. But she loves to share her couch with me.

Title of book(s) read since last update: I read more of Growing Girls (Jeanne Marie Laskas) and The Graveyard Book (Neil Gaiman).

Number of books read since you started: I finally finished a book (Growing Girls)!! Yay!

Pages read since last update: 154

Running total of pages read since you started: 571

Amount of time spent reading since last update: 2 hours and 20 minutes

Running total of time spent reading since you started: (keep track of this one to be eligible for a prize!) 8 hours and 15 minutes

Mini-challenges completed: 4 total

Snacks & Meals: Mushroom and Italian Sausage pizza. One glass of wine (Red Diamond Cab.). 1 mug of Pomegranate/Fruit Green Tea. Water.

Mood: Feeling a bit sleepy.

Breaks: Watched an episode of House while eating dinner with my hubby. Joined him on a walk with Annie-Dog after dinner. Emptied the dishwasher while waiting for my tea to brew. This was the only housework I did all day!

Location: Couch before dinner, then back to the leather chair (where I'm less apt to fall asleep).

  3. Congrats on finishing a book! Love the pictures. That's so cute that Annie's camera shy.
    Keep on reading on! :)

  5. You're so close now you can taste it! There's only one thing left to do: read! Read! Read! [and maybe dance a bit ;) )]

    Love the pics! :D

  6. Are you still around? Or sleeping and resting? No matter what, you've done great so far. Ready for the last stretch?! Come on. GO GO GO. Cheering for you from Copenhagen, Denmark.

  8. Aw, those photos of you with Annie are so sweet! I love the hand on the paw. My Spooky doesn't like to have her paws touched but Sunshine used to let me hold her paw in my hand and I absolutely loved that.

  9. Nicole - Yes, she most certainly is. I think it's the red-eye strobe/flash that bothers her so much.

Thanks for stopping by and cheering me on. It's been a fun-filled weekend of reading.

Bybee - It's super comfy! We've had it for 17 years! It's got a lot of stains and dirt on the cushions (thanks to Annie and small children), but it's perfect to stretch out and read on. I'm looking for a new couch that will hide all the dirt and grime (and dog hair), but so far no luck.

Nat - It's fun to look at the pictures of Annie. She always looks smaller than she does in real life.

Trisha - I think I did pretty well for a newbie. I definitely plan to try again next year.

Eva - Close, but no cigar. I'm not a night owl, so I wimped out early. I still had fun, though! Glad you enjoyed the pix. :)

Louise - Definitely asleep when you posted your comment! I was sound asleep at midnight. ;) Thanks for stopping by all the way from Copenhagen! Wow!

    Pam - :)

Bookfool - She's such a sweetie and I kind of hated to ask Rod to take those pictures since I knew it would upset her. I was patting her head and paws, trying to keep her from jumping off the couch. She was doing such a nice job keeping me warm. :)

  11. AWww! I love these pics of you and Annie. I had a Daisy on me for most of the readathon.

  12. Twiga92 - Annie is a sweetie! We adopted her two years ago this Thanksgiving and we've loved every minute. She's so well-mannered and an all-around great dog. Never barks, comes when calls, etc. I don't know who's luckier - us or her.

Andi - You need to post some new pics of Daisy! It's been a while, although I guess she's out of her puppy stage and hasn't changed much. Are you prepping her for the arrival of the baby? A friend of mine carried a doll around during her last trimester. I don't think that would have ever occurred to me! :)

  14. Allie - She's a great reading buddy! And a good incentive to get up off the couch and go for a walk (or two or three!). Thanks for stopping by my blog!
