    1. Thanks, Diane. Once again, these are tightly cropped and not quite a sharp as I'd like, but it was fun to see the whales so close to our bluff. I heard a few before I spotted them!

  2. Wow! Love those shots. Are they all taken from those rocks? The whale is spectacular. Reminds me of a few we have seen from my Dad's sailboat years ago -- always a thrill.

    1. Thanks so much, Susan. Yes, they were all taken from the bluff that I walk along in our neighborhood. I'm always thrilled to see the whales so close (they're a resident pod that feed on the abundant krill in our area) and even happier for the tourists to experience a whale sighting. It never gets old to spot a blow from a whale's spout (or a fluke!).

  3. What a wonderful place to view the ocean and its largest inhabitants! I can almost feel the wind and smell the salt!

  5. So amazing! We went on a whale watching boat tour on one of our more recent travels but didn't see any whales. Would love to see these amazing creatures.

    1. I always feel badly for the tourists who come to see the whales and there aren't any around that day. I've gone out on a boat twice and have seen whales both times, but it's so unpredictable. I'm so lucky that I can spot them on my daily walks. It's always a thrill.
