  3. I'd love to see an elk. We don't have them down here in the swamp :-) Great photo.

    1. Tina, there are a couple of campgrounds nearby that have "resident" herds. They love to wander around the campsites, grazing or bedding down in nearby grassy areas in the shade. We keep our distance, as they are big and strong. Here's a link to an earlier post (5 years ago!) from a spot in Washington that we love. Lots of Roosewelt Elk there!

    1. Thanks, Deb. A group (herd) of these elk were crossing the road, so traffic came to a halt. I got lucky and was able to get a few photos as we waited. They can be scary if you get too close.
