Blue Lake RV Resort - Naples, Idaho

Glacier National Park Road Trip (Fall 2022)
September 9 & 10, 2022
Connell, Washington to Naples, Idaho
Daily Mileage: 207
Site: A4 (Lakeview)
Duration: 2 nights
Cost: $60/night (includes taxes)
Weather: 72 degrees & sunny

A full day of driving, with a little bit of wind, but nothing too terrible. We stopped at the Costco in Spokane Valley to fuel up, and again in Athol, Idaho for lunch at Sweet Lou's. The beer was great and the sliders were decent. Lots of smoke in the sky from the nearby forest fires around Spokane and the surrounding areas.

Post Falls Dark Horse

Blue Lake RV Resort is an old-timey kind of campground. The stocked lake is great for kids who want to fish (catch & release) from the docks, canoes, paddle boats, or even from a SUP! We had a spacious site overlooking the lake that included a gravel pad, picnic table, fire ring and plenty of grass & shade trees. We had 3-4 bars with both T-Mobile and Verizon, as well as free WiFi. The campground provides full hook-ups, free showers, laundry, and dvd rentals. There are all sorts of games (giant chess, horseshoes, ladder ball, badminton, Bocce ball, croquet, cornhole, etc.), as well as a wine & beer bar. I would bet that it isn't quite as peaceful in the summertime when there are more families, as it was when we were there.

We would definitely return, if we were passing through the area.

  1. Gorgeous scenery! And I spy a pickle with your meal. I am a HUGE pickle fan and believe most meals can be enhanced with something pickle-like.

    1. Helen, too funny about the pickle. I only like sweet pickles, so I'm sure I gave that dill spear to Rod. Yes, the scenery was pretty nice!

  2. Vicki, it was a very relaxing campground. How wonderful that you lived on a lake! My parents had a vacation cabin in the Big Bear area, which was fun, but we only went a few times a year.

We are loving our RV travels. I'm not sure if you're following me on Instagram, but we're currently in the Canadian Rockies and I'm sharing a lot of photos from the trip.

  3. Did you guys get to use the paddle boat or canoes? I bet that would be so fun! Looks like a great campground.

    1. No, but we should have though! It's not that big of a lake, so it wouldn't take too long to paddle around.
